Sir,

In continuation of my despatch of the 17th ultimo, with regard to the piracy committed at P'ing Hai upon a HongKong fishing junk, I have the honour to inform you that I am now in receipt of a despatch from the Viceroy stating that he is instructing the civil and military authorities concerned to recover the booty and arrest the pirates. His Excellency further informs me that he is requesting the Provincial Judge to draw up and submit to him a scheme for the suppression of piracy.
